Laura Pannone is a multi-disciplined artist based in Staten Island, NY. Her foundation is Fine Arts, but she has realized her most profound inspiration and artistic expression through the medium of photography. The artist identifies as a synesthete, a human able to blend the senses, producing sensations through different modalities. She can hear colors, feel sounds, and taste shapes; she channels this acute sensation into her art. It is for this reason, Pannone gravitates towards multisensory media. Although she has found photography to be her greatest lens of creative expression, her study of cinematography, music, and reiki inspires her use of light and color. Cinematography has made her cognisant of the way light affects the mood of an image; every song has triggered symbolic visualization in her photographs; reiki has elevated her spiritual vibration, manifesting through highly saturated color. It is for this reason that one can see a dramatic narrative throughout her work; she encourages viewers to heighten their senses, vividly hearing the vibration of colors, feeling the essence of light, and seeing a story through her lens.
